MORUYA’S indifferent start to the All Age ladies’ season continued on Sunday when it went down 4-3 in a nail-biting match.
Sean Christie’s Moruya side was confident heading into the match after it put league leader Clyde United to the sword 4-nil in round six.
However, Moruya couldn’t continue its winning ways against Narooma despite taking a fifth- minute lead through Lauren Campbell.
A shell-shocked Moruya then found itself 3-1 down after Narooma hit its straps for the rest of the first half.
The topsy-turvy encounter continued after the break and when Lani Galvin and Crystal Staunton found the back of the net for Moruya, the game was locked at 3-all.
But Narooma found an extra gear in the dying stages and hit the winner with less than five minutes on the clock to secure a memorable victory.
In the other women’s match, Clyde responded to its rare defeat with a 6-nil hammering of Broulee.
Meanwhile in the All Age men’s, defending champion Clyde United secured bragging rights with a 2-nil defeat of Bodalla.
In what was a heated affair at times, Nathan Vogel and Jamie Masters struck for Clyde before Bodalla went down to 10 men after a head butt.
Broulee scored two unanswered goals against Moruya and Narooma hit Bay FC for six in the other matches.
