Trials are open to players of all abilities and even those who have not been involved with the Swans before are welcome to attend.
“All playing abilities are catered for and we train them up ready for their tournaments,” Swans official Donna Berry said.
The representative tournaments don’t start until March, however coaches like to get their teams together around this time of year to help with preparations, Berry said.
Skills and fitness sessions run from December until the beginning of the representative competitions.
“Training commitments are usually around one- and-a-half hours per week, but that can vary according to the coaches’ needs,” Berry said.
Nominated coaches will be at the trials and their positions will be confirmed as teams and player numbers are also confirmed.
“But in saying that, any interested coaches are welcome to come along and are welcome to run a session of their own,” Berry said.
There are potentially four tournaments the Swans will enter next year – the Barrengarry Conference, Waratah Junior Southern League, Country Tournament and the brand-new Basketball NSW Premier League.
“With that, we can offer opportunities for players of all levels, so please don’t hesitate to come along,” Berry said.
“I can guarantee that by the end of the season, players will be better basketballers, fitter and they would’ve had a great time on trips away with new friends.
“So come along and be a Moruya Swan.”
For those just keen to have a run, there will be training sessions for kids aged 11 to 15 on November 12, 19 and 26 for $4 per session.
Training starts at 3.30pm and anyone interested can sign up at the stadium or email Donna Berry.
Meanwhile, the Moruya Swans will hold their presentation on Sunday, November 20, at the Moruya Golf Club from 4.30pm.
All Swans players, officials and supporters are invited to help celebrate the 2011 season.
