The Eurobodalla Netball Association fielded four representative teams at the event, which attracts 3500 players and 308 teams from all across NSW.
All the Eurobodalla teams held their own in their respective age groups, playing high-quality competitive netball against a number of strong opponents. The grueling schedule saw each team play a minimum of 17 games over the course of three days.
In the under 12s division three age group, Eurobodalla performed strongly to finish with a total of 10 wins from 18 games which placed them ninth in their division. Their victories came against Tamworth (19-4), Grafton (13-11), Taree (20-11), Mudgee (20-10), Macleay (11-5), Port Stephens (8-5), Ulladulla (12-6), Lower Clarence (12-6), Lismore (14-8) and Kiama (12-11).
The under 13s Eurobodalla girls had a similar record in division four of their age group, finishing with nine wins and a draw from their 19 games. The opponents they conquered included Woolgoolga (13-7), Boorowa (18-7), Cooma (19-1), Narrabri (18-4), Young (5-3), Cootamundra (17-1), Blayney (18-12), Group 14 (10-6), Armidale (21-3) and they also drew with Glen Innes (6-6).
In the under 14s division three age group, Eurobodalla battled hard to notch up seven wins from their 18 matches. They triumphed over Singleton (15-11), Mudgee (20-18), Nelson Bay (19-18), Dubbo (22-19), Lower Clarence (21-16), Kurri Kurri (16-13), and Tumut (16-6).
The under 15s division four Eurobodalla girls were competitive but did not have luck on their side during the tournament. They were unable to pick up a win but played out two thrilling draws against Scone (12-12) and Goulburn (11-11) while 11 of their other matches were decided by 10 goals or less.
Eurobodalla Netball Association representative convenor Annette Kobald said that all the players did the association proud with their efforts on and off the court.
“All the girls played exceptional netball, stepping up to the challenge of very competitive games against teams from all over the state,” she said.
