The Seahawks had progressed through the regular season undefeated but were beaten by Bombaderry in the major semi-final only two weeks ago which forced the Seahawks to advance through to the grand final the hard way.
Eager to bounce back from that setback, the Seahawks came out firing in the grand final and led for the majority of the match. However, Bombaderry fought back strongly in the second half and it was not until the final minutes that the Seahawks were able to secure the premiership.
Seahawks assistant coach Ross Wilson praised the players for an outstanding season and grand final performance.
“It was a fantastic effort all year and especially in the final. We saw a really good team performance from the boys and it was a very entertaining game,” he said.
Wilson had high praise for a trio of players who stood out in the decider.
“Charlie Hall set a very good example for his teammates, Angus Shaw had one of the best games he’s played all season and Lachlan Mullins went hard at the ball for the whole game,” he said.
