Eurocoast Polocrosse Club is riding high in the saddle after success at the ninth Easter Polocrosse carnival at Lynchs Creek, Moruya.

Twenty one senior and seven junior teams took part with riders coming from throughout the Eurobodalla and Young, Braidwood, Bowral and Wagga.
Up to 200 spectators attended the finals on the Good Friday and Saturday in the A, B and C grade open and mixed grades.
Eurocoast beat Milton by two points on a countback in the A open grade final.
Eurocoast Polocrosse Club secretary Deb Reid was impressed with Alison Mathie’s performance in the final.
“She was one of the shining stars in the A open,” she said.
“Alison won the best stock horse of the carnival.”
She represented Australia last year at the World Cup at Bowral.
The A grade mixed final was a tight game that Eurocoast won against Young.
“It was a nail-bitting final, Eurocoast won by three points. In the dying minutes of the game three quick goals were scored,” Reid said.
Clare Burbridge from Narooma and Wade Mathie from Bodalla scored seven and six goals respectively for Eurocoast against Young. The final match score was 13-10.
Reid said that Ashley Mathie defended well for his Eurocoast side.
“Ashley went very well, he is one of the best defenders for Eurocoast,” she said.
“He’s been playing polocrosse since he could walk.”
In the junior A grade, for players 12 to 16 years of age the Braidwood team beat Eurocoast 5 to 3.
In the C grade, Cathi MacKenzie won the best C womens horse and riding combination.
Her team played Moss Vale and were defeated by two points.
In the juniors B grade Eurocoast went down by one point to Buradoo.
The Eurocoast Polocrosse club is in its fourth year, with some players reaching the elite heights of competition.
Sixteen-year-olds Shelli Reid and Farann Mathie have both been selected to represent their club at international tournaments.
Shelli Reid who plays in the open grade has been selected to represent NSW in a tour to America, for the Harvest Carnival in Huntsville Alabama in August.
Open A grade player Farann Mathie is part of the Australian team which will play in South Africa in July.
The next polocrosse carnival that Eurocoast players will attend is at Buradoo, Bowral on April 17 and 18.
