The Eurobodalla Dream and Achieve committee has selected the Higher School Certificate student as the 2010 recipient and he has an audition with the National Institute of Dramatic Art in Sydney on Friday.
Brandon is also waiting to hear if his HSC individual drama performance “In This Dark” will be featured in the Department of Education and Training and Board of Studies OnSTAGE exhibition in Sydney in February.
“I’m really chuffed at the moment,” Brandon said.
“I’m going to be working very hard over the next week on the monologues (for the NIDA audition).”
Eurobodalla Dream and Achieve president Kerri-Anne Mesner said the committee unanimously agreed Brandon would be the 2010 recipient.
“Brandon’s portfolio shows he has been dedicated to the theatre from a young age,” she said.
“He presented the committee with a short DVD showing snippets of performances he has recently done.
“The committee was impressed with Brandon’s acting skills and hopes to help him achieve his dream of becoming a professional actor.”
Brandon has been performing since Year Three, with his first role playing Sneezey in Batemans Bay Public School’s production Snow White Out of Sight.
He joined Bay Theatre Players after Year Six and played the genie in Aladdin Jr in 2007.
Eurobodalla Dream and Achieve will be holding a movie fundraiser at Bay City Cinemas tomorrow night, showing the Twilight saga’s second movie New Moon at 7pm and food from Dominos available from 6pm.
Tickets cost $18 per person and are available from Bay City Cinemas.
