Successful tenders of the new service were Campbell Page, SERTEC Ltd and Wesley Uniting Employment (WUE).

Campbell Page chief executive officer Xavier Crimmins said a new innovative approach to assisting job seekers and employers would be introduced in all Campbell Page locations.

He said the new concept, Community Employment Hub, would offer services in a friendly, relaxed setting that draws together a range of people, services, and ideas to best assist job seekers into work.

“This is great news for Campbell Page and the local community,” Mr Crimmins said.

“We are now a very significant provider of job services and our national headquarters are right here on the South Coast.”

WUE will expand its employment services to communities in the Eurobodalla with a new site in Narooma to be open on July 1.

“The sites have built a reputation of being a community partner, going beyond a standard placement service and becoming a part of the fabric of their local community. We look forward to continuing this work and being part of the network of support,” Eurobodalla area manager Samantha Roles said.

Eden-Monaro MP Mike Kelly said the new service, Job Services Australia: People, Skills, Jobs, folds seven separate employment services programs into a “one-stop-shop” that provides jobseekers across the regions in Eden-Monaro with a more personalised service.

“Nothing is more important in the current economic climate than giving local job seekers the support and skills to find employment,” Dr Kelly said.

“Job seekers will receive an individual Employment Pathway Plan, which can include literacy and numeracy programs, work experience, help with resumes, trade equipment and training.

“The new services will also have stronger links to the government’s $2 billion Productivity Places Program which consists of 711,000 training places of which 319,000 places are for job seekers and 20,000 are identified for recently retrenched workers.”
