Bidgood Building Pty Ltd owner Ross Bidgood, who has only had his own business for the past two years, won the award for the house he built for his family and as a display home to show clients.
The company also took out four other awards at the Master Builders Association South East Regional awards on Saturday, including Best Use of Timber, Tradesman Art of Excellence, Tradesman of the Year and merit for Best Use of Metal Cladding.
Mr Bidgood, who has been working in the building industry in the Eurobodalla for the past 12 years, said he built the house on Yaccaba Drive as his family home and to show his clients what he could do with hardwood timber, which was becoming a popular building product.
His partner and business partner Kylie Lipp said they were shocked.
“We were a bit overwhelmed,” she said.
Ms Lipp said they designed the house themselves and it took 12 months to build.
Bidgood Building Pty Ltd employees three full-time carpenters, along with local contractors and uses local suppliers.
There were 16 awards up for grabs at the South East Regional Awards, which were held in Ulladulla.
