The students, who described the graduating class as having a family atmosphere, were full of mixed emotions knowing they would be finishing their studies.
Four of the 11 have been at the school from Year Seven to 12. Keziah Toohey said that her school career had been great with good experiences and making great friends.
“It’s nice to be the first ones to go the whole way (through the senior school),” Keziah said. “It means a lot for us four.”
Sarah Graham said that it was just hitting her that the group would no longer be together after seeing each other every day at school. Andy Horsley was looking forward to the end of it but felt as prepared as he could be. Kady Rowley said that the graduating class had a mindset to do their best in the HSC.
“The teachers have been supportive,” Kady said. “We just take each day as it comes.”
Head of the Senior School Tony Young said that this would be a really significant moment for the group, who other students in the school look up to.
“They’ve felt pressure and had the expectation to be good leaders and create traditions,” Mr Young said. “They are very studious and we have high hopes. I hope they do well for their own sakes and the college’s reputation.”
The students will finish school this Friday with HSC written exams to begin on Thursday, October 16.
