Letters to the Editor
10 Mar 10 | I don’t know what (bad) experience Tuross man Peter Nielsen (Bay Post/Moruya Examiner 5/3/10) has had with the Eurobodalla Regional Botanic Gardens, but he could not be more wrong with his advice to have it pruned in the name of economy.
05 Mar 10 | On Tuesday there is a special council meeting to “consider the Draft Local Environment Plan” (LEP).
03 Mar 10 | The Eurobodalla Dream and Achieve Committee has been fundraising to help Brandon McClelland achieve his dream of becoming a professional actor.
26 Feb 10 | Neville Hughes’ incisive “Time for community to respond” (Bay Post/Moruya Examiner, February 24, page 12) is a wake-up call for residents to prioritise their expectations from council, including the need for improved governance and probity standards.
24 Feb 10 | The “Link road dilemma for shire council” article by Pamela Frost (Bay Post/Moruya Examiner 17/02/10) is timely.
19 Feb 10 | Those who enjoy the facilities at Malua Bay will have noticed some changes have quietly occurred over past years.
17 Feb 10 | The rain came in time. It is a huge relief for us all.
10 Feb 10 | “The electorate will surely hold us accountable” - regularly and glibly mouthed by parliamentarians, usually said with fingers crossed behind their back in case it comes to pass.
05 Feb 10 | On behalf of the Moruya and District Australia Day Committee, I thank all those who helped make the Australia Day celebrations at Russ Martin Park so successful.
03 Feb 10 | With the introduction of level four restrictions imminent and the rapid rise to level five predicted, a crisis of accelerating magnitude is upon us.
29 Jan 10 | What a wonderful Australia Day we have just had. On behalf of the Quota Club I would like to thank everyone for their great support for this function, which just gets better and bigger each year. There were more than 1200 people at Corrigans Beach Reserve enjoying the glorious weather.
27 Jan 10 | I thank publicly everyone who participated in the Movember campaign last year and helped to raise awareness of men’s health.
22 Jan 10 | I write to thank local residents for their tremendous support of the 22nd Kmart Wishing Tree Appeal, Australia’s largest Christmas gift appeal.
20 Jan 10 | Many Far South Coast residents have contacted me expressing concern about rising electricity prices.
Their concerns are valid because the price rises are causing financial hardship.
15 Jan 10 | I think I understand when the car with ACT number plates sits within inches of my back bumper bar while I’m driving at the speed limit along George Bass Drive and then overtakes with accompanying finger gestures and horn tooting.
13 Jan 10 | The current public housing debate in Batemans Bay has once again highlighted the dictatorial attitude of the NSW Government. Who among you voted to give Housing NSW the right to disregard council rules and regulations regarding residential developments in your area?
08 Jan 10 | Since the accident on the Princes Highway last week that claimed four lives a lot has been said about the need for upgrading the Princes Highway from Bomaderry to the Victorian border.
06 Jan 10 | In response to Housing Minister David Borger’s letter in last week’s Bay Post. Firstly it is clear he has little sympathy for residents with concerns of devaluation to their property from the proposed developments. Surely then in his eyes it would be a selling point having a block of 10 single bedroom social housing units without provision for parking or waste disposal right next door?
30 Dec 09 | As the NSW Minister for Housing, it’s my responsibility to provide homes for people in need, ordinary people who are down on their luck or simply can’t afford the private rental market.
23 Dec 09 | We want to convey congratulations and thanks to the Combined Churches of Batemans Bay and their supporters for the wonderful family carols service held on Sunday evening.
