Letters to the Editor

3:46 PM AEST | I JUST couldn’t believe it possible that in the space of a single article, spanning only five short columns, Eric Wiseman managed to meander across so many apparently unrelated topics.
01 Sep 10 | THE bid for votes in the seat of Eden-Monaro in the recent election escalated the issue of marine parks, but it seems commonsense prevailed and voters clearly demonstrated this issue was not a vote winner for the Liberal candidate.
27 Aug 10 | As chairman of the Batemans Bay Youth Foundation, I felt it was my duty to point out to Government how students will be adversely affected by the changes to Youth Allowance introduced earlier this year.
25 Aug 10 | I WRITE on behalf of the Australian Plants Society concerning the Eurobodalla Botanic Gardens.
20 Aug 10 | Last week there was a meeting at the Rooty Hill leagues club where both Prime Minister Gillard and Tony Abbott faced questions from the public who call themselves undecided voters.
18 Aug 10 | YOUR article by Pamela Frost (Bay Post/Moruya Examiner, 28/7/10) re a lay-by by a 14-year-old brought back memories of my hire-purchase at 14, 75 years ago, during the Great Depression.
13 Aug 10 | On July 21, I attended a public meeting hosted by the Batemans Bay Indoor Aquatic Centre Committee and chaired by Andrew Constance.
11 Aug 10 | Having recently visited the Eurobodalla Shire on holiday, I was appalled to read of council’s decision to defer this summer’s paid lifesavers thereby saving $150,000 in their budget.  | CommentsComments (1)
06 Aug 10 | In regards to your article regarding council staff numbers, and the comparison with Great Lakes Shire, I consider that such comparisons are difficult to make and can be very misleading.
04 Aug 10 | I have had an interesting encounter with the Commonwealth Bank (CBA) after receiving a statement of account transaction fees totalling $280+ for a six month period.  | CommentsComments (1)
30 Jul 10 | Authorities asleep at the wheel I refer to the Bay Post/Examiner Editor’s recent editorial on revenue from fines levied on car drivers and the new mobile speed cameras activating at 4km/h over the speed limit.  | CommentsComments (1)
28 Jul 10 | Nigel Jackson, Narooma Chamber of Commerce president, attacks Frank Milner and the Eurobodalla Ratepayers Association (ERA) in your Opinion page of July 16.
23 Jul 10 | The mayoral column in last Wednesday’s edition, pathetically, was the usual spin to push the blame elsewhere after the Department of Local Government rejected the shire’s application for a rate increase above the pegged amount set for the State but he’ll have to try harder to fool the people of Eurobodalla again.
22 Jul 10 | With all the rhetoric and argument about proposed council service cuts, don’t forget the people who suffer the affects of age and disability.
16 Jul 10 | I hope Frank Milner of the Eurobodalla Ratepayers Association is proud of himself.  | CommentsComments (2)
14 Jul 10 | As concerned wildlife carers who belong to a well-known seabird rescue organisation and who have rescued and cared for many penguins, we’d like to voice our concern about some of the misinformation that is being spread around about the burning of penguins on Montague Island.
09 Jul 10 | Last Monday the Tollgates Combined Probus Club’s guest speaker, council’s general manager Paul Anderson, presented a candid exposition of the challenges confronting council.
07 Jul 10 | Recent news gave me a real good laugh, a little touch of hope and sobs of despair all in one hit. The outgoing council tourism manager has managed to provide me with all of these reactions.
02 Jul 10 | On going through the applications for membership of the Eurobodalla Ratepayers Association, we have been impressed by the number of strong criticisms made about council’s way of doing things. For want of a better word, let’s call it the “culture” of both councillors and staff, who believe they know best.
30 Jun 10 | It is hoped that the Minister for Local Government will keep to her press releases with respect to some councils applying for a special variation - in particular the Eurobodalla Council.

4:12 PM AEST | We might all be heartily sick of politicians, but there's no doubting the unique fascination of current politics.
