The Batemans Bay Tigers annual presentation night was held at the Mackay Park Club rooms on Saturday night, There were over 80 people in attendance, including players, their parents, wives and girlfriends and supporters.

Incoming president John McAlister thanked the outgoing committee members Bob Mitchell and David Shooks and welcomed the new executive Jacki Selleck as secretary and Jenny Ralph as treasurer.
Under 18s coach Peter Harvie said the players grew within themselves to show great commitment and team effort in what was a tough year.
“I could not have been more proud of the team,” he said.
He thanked trainer and assistant Andy Busse and manager Ted Canty.
Brent Ayton was best and fairest in the under 18s, and the coach’s award went to John Vardy.
The reserve grade coach, Chad Pickett, whose team made the finals, thanked his players for their effort and their ability to come from behind to win games and stay in the race.
Charlie Nye was best and fairest in reserves, while the coach’s award went to Mervyn Brierley and Mitch Cummings.
First grade coach Stephen Elliot, spoke about the year past.
“It was a difficult one with players coming and going injuries depleting the first grade ranks,” he said.
He praised the efforts of his players for their commitment to stick together and see out the season.
Grant Roberts won the Grubber Ladmore Shield for best and fairest player in first grade, while runner-up Brendan Magnus won the Les Latty Shield.
The coach commended the commitment of coach’s award winner Chris Wheatley.
“He didn’t miss a training session or a game,” he said.
The Pink Pig award for oratory skills on and off the field went to Matt Brown, while under 18 player Will Roqica was rookie of the year after playing five games in first grade and five in reserves.
Wade Merritt was Tiger of the Year and strapper Mark Brown clubman of the year. Top try scorer was under 18 player Blake Rootsey with 25 four pointers, and top point scorer Charlie Nye with 242 points.
The final award handed out was the Ron Mathie Trophy, called the “Iron Bark”.
This is awarded to the toughest competitor.
“After the first tackle he made for the club, it was evident that Grant Roberts fitted the bill,” McAlister said.
