Lavis plunges toward national circuit

Olympic hopeful Jack Lavis is gearing himself up and undertaking heavy training to prepare for the Australian Mountain Bike Series later this month.

Off to Hobart next week for stage one of the series, 14-year-old Jack has been riding on rocky and mountainous terrain every day to train for the big plunge ahead.

“It’s a passion,” Jack said.

The national series has four stages, and, after Hobart, Jack has still to conquer circuits in Shepparton in January, Thredbo in February and Canberra in March.
