The South East Regional Academy of Sport (SERAS) held its annual induction day recently at the Queanbeyan Conference Centre for 105 scholarship holders in its programs for 2010.

The academy inducted scholarship holders in the squad sport programs of Australian rules football (17), basketball (20), golf (eight), lawn bowls (12), netball (15) and snowsports (12). Nineteen individual scholarship holders were also inducted in the Country Energy program as well as two rising stars.
Queanbeyan mayor Tim Overall opened proceedings with a welcome speech on behalf of the 10 local government authorities that make up the SERAS region. Scholarship holders also received their mandatory Drugs in Sport education session.
Athletes from the Eurobodalla to receive scholarships for 2010 are Brendan Ciuffetelli (Moruya) and Tim Watson (Narooma) - Australian rules, Hannah Berry (Moruya), David Bettridge (South Durras), Mia Johnston (Mossy Point), Grady Meek (Moruya), Zoe Monck (Congo) and Joshua Scullin (Batemans Bay) - basketball, Farann Mathie (Bodalla) - polocrosse - Country Energy, Jaydon Pincott (Batemans Bay) - Golf, Tania Hillier (Batemans Bay), Matthew Meijer (Mystery Bay), and Teagan Stuart (Tuross Head) - lawn bowls, and Lenna Carradus (Narooma), Jenna Clements (Tuross Head), Lisa Hodge (Batemans Bay), Renae Marshall (Tuross Head), Cassie Staples (Batemans Bay) and Stephanie Watson (Narooma) - netball.
