Horse racing enthusiasts in the Eurobodalla will be able to enjoy an extra race meeting at the Moruya Jockey Club on February 11, with the Nowra meeting programmed for that day being transferred to Moruya.
The Nowra racecourse is undertaking drainage work in an attempt to fix ongoing problems in the home straight. The meeting will cap what has been a great summers racing at Moruya following the recent Narooma and Moruya Cup meetings.
The day will be a six-race Sky2 TAB meeting with the first race around 2pm. With the late start to the day gates will open at 12pm rather than the usual 11 am. The Priors bus will be running from the Bay at 12pm. The club has decided to promote the meeting with a Valentine’s Day theme. Couples attending will gain entry for the price of one and the regular Fashions on the Field competition will be replaced by a Valentine’s Best Dressed Couple competition. A range of businesses in the region have donated accommodation and restaurant prizes which will be on offer to the best dressed couples.
In addition to the Moruya racing, patrons will be able to enjoy the thrill of being on course when Black Caviar races for 18 straight wins at Caulfield.
