On Friday, the upgraded pay-by-space parking machines in the Clyde Street car park commenced operation. The new machines in the Perry Street car park are scheduled to be operational from this week.
Eurobodalla Shire Council’s Roads and Recreation Manager Warren Sharpe says the new machines are ticketless and each parking space is numbered and features an arrow which points to the nearest machine.
“Each machine has clearly identified ‘Pay Here’ signs located nearby,” Mr Sharpe said. “Motorists will need to remember the space number and proceed to any of the machines.
“The parking space number will need to be entered into the machine at the time of payment. Payment is by coins only at $1 per hour and easy to follow instructions will be on each machine.
Mr Sharpe said the new machines would save motorists time, as they would not have to return to their vehicles after they paid for parking.
He said all money collected from paid parking in the Bay would be used by council for beautification and maintenance works in the Batemans Bay CBD.
Pay parking is in force in Clyde Street and Perry Street car parks from 8.30am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday and on Saturdays from 8.30am to 12.30pm. Sundays and public holidays are free.
