THE Bureau of Meteorology has issued a Flood Watch for the South Coast, including Moruya.
The Bureau is forecasting very heavy rain in the catchments of the Moruya River and smaller local streams and coastal lakes over the next 72 hours.
The rain may be heavy enough to cause localised flooding in low-lying areas.
If this weather system intensifies, flooding could develop on the Moruya River. If so, the Bureau will issue Flood Warnings predicting flood heights at the Wamban and Moruya gauge.
If Flood Warnings are issued, the State Emergency Service will release bulletins to tell you about the situation and what you should do to protect yourself, your family and your property.
Any flooding will initially affect low-lying areas and flood-prone local roads.
The SES is advising Eurobodalla residents to watch the weather and look for flood waters near their properties.
Farmers located on the floodplain should be ready to move pumps, equipment and livestock if floodwaters rise.
It is essential that people avoid walking or driving through floodwaters, which could be deeper or faster-flowing than they look. Children, in particular, should be kept away from streams and stormwaer drains.
People needing help with storm damage or flooding can contact their local SES Unit on 132 500.
