Council fined over tragic death

26 Nov, 2009 03:57 PM
The NSW Industrial Court has fined Eurobodalla Shire Council $175,000 over the tragic death of council worker Terry Connell in a tree-felling accident on Dunns Creek Road, Mogo, on December 12, 2006.

Justice Marks also ordered council to pay costs, however compensation was not dealt with by that court.

He said the maximum penalties for the two offences to which council had pleaded guilty were $825,000.
